5 Red Flags in Crypto Headlines
Crypto moves quickly and so do headlines. Some are accurate. Others are written to make you click or buy. Here are five warning signs.
1. Guaranteed returns
No investment can guarantee profit. Any headline or message that promises it is a red flag.
2. Urgency and countdowns
Phrases like "last chance" or "only hours left" are designed to stop you thinking. Real opportunities rarely vanish in an hour.
3. Anonymous sources and no links
If a claim has no named source, no document and no link, treat it as a rumour until it is confirmed elsewhere.
4. Celebrity endorsements
A famous face promoting a coin is not research. Deepfake videos and hacked accounts are common, so verify through the person's official channels.
5. Price targets stated as facts
"This coin will hit 10x" is an opinion. Look for the reasoning and who benefits if you believe it.
A quick checklist
- Can you find the story on two or more reputable sites?
- Is there a primary source such as an official announcement?
- Who gains if you act on it?
- Does it ask for your keys or a recovery phrase? Then it is a scam.
On the News page we collect headlines from several outlets so you can compare how different sources cover the same story.
